100 Gallery Entries! Now vote for the best!
Published April 11, 2006
I would like to announce that today Liquid Designs reached its 100th gallery entry. That means 100 well-made examples of effective flexible design for the whole world to see. We’ve come a long way from December 11th, 2003 when Matt said:
Was it that long ago that flexible-width designs were all the rage? They came in with a bang, and left with a whimper. Is anyone still holding out? Are there any good flexible sites left? The only place I see it anymore [is] in web applications (such as the WordPress administration interface) and in lightly designed e-commerce sites like Amazon.
As of April 11, 2006 we can proudly say we have 100 great examples of flexible width designs built with CSS (and there’s more in my queue waiting to be added). To celebrate this day I’ve decided to put together a hall of fame for entries at Liquid Designs. The best sites from each group of 100 entries will be recognized in the hall of fame for their awesome-ness. It is up to you to help me pick the first group of these sites.
To help me pick the finalists for entry into the Hall of Fame I called on the help of 4 guest reviewers. They were all very gracious for responding at such short notice and contributing their choices. Before I go on I would like to thank them:
I presented to them my top entries since the launch of Liquid Designs and they each chose their favorite 5. I then compiled all the choices that were agreed upon by at least 2 reviewers, making for 7 finalists.
Voting is closed. Winners will be announced soon.
